Post with 1 note
So Caliber Trucks have finally arrived and I’m the luckiest dude to try it first! Before I start talking about it I’ll share a quick background about and me and my skating. So I weigh 18+ lbs, regular and my former set up was a topmount Rayne Killswitch with Paris 180’s and Abec 11 wheels. So expect that I’ll be comparing them to Paris. Also, since the stock Blood Orange bushings were too soft for me I changed to 93a Venom Barrels Boardside and 91a SHR Venom Barrels Roadside.
First thing I noticed about these trucks is how low they are. I’ve seen pictures of it beside Randals and it was a bit surprising to see how close the 50* and 44* Caliber trucks to the height of the 42* Randal Trucks. So if low = stability then I guess I feel more stable? But yes, for a 50* truck, They feel so low compared to the 50* Paris Truck.
Second, I noticed how restrictive the bushing seat is. The Paris definitely have more carve than Caliber. Caliber felt like I was using tight trucks. I was able to do all the stuff I did with my Paris, but I felt like it was clean. Although the bushing seat was restrictive it was really clean, the dive of the trucks were like “cast” kahas. The bottom line with the bushing seat is, that it doesn’t carve that much but it gets the job done. My Paris definitely felt more sloppy when I loosened it with just one thread of the kingpin remaining. But with the Caliber it had less play. Cool. Now I know why Caliber took a while to release them in the market, Quality!
I was able to throw more predictable slides with Calibers and I felt that the Calibers had more lean than the Paris, must be good when you’re flying through corners without breaking your tuck.
I’ll be hitting the mountains in a few days time and take them to higher speeds. I’m pretty confident that these trucks are awesome for downhill. Wait for the second part of my review this week!
Also there are limited sets of these trucks, like 1 per shop. I’ve heard Longboards Manila just sold it’s set today. Here are the shops that have the 50* 10 inch (184mm) Caliber Trucks!
Also all Contach Longboards will now come with Caliber Trucks!
I can’t say when the said shops will get their limited Caliber Trucks, it would be best to pay them a visit to find out!
These are really awesome!

After getting bored standing up, Adrian Portugal decided to ride the board on his back and now he’s pushing the Street/Classic Luge scene. Adrian talks with great stoke about luging and he’ll gladly help you out if you’re interested.Let’s hope it catches on and we see more lugers in future events.

Just heard from Society Longboards Co. that the Whiskey Hill 6 Shirts that were supposed to be given during the event are now available. Participants can get their shirts at Skate of the Nation (S.O.N.A.).
