Mall of Asia Concert HallOct 17-18, 2009 Manila folk better get ready for the biggest and most legit 2 day alternative sports show coming your way this October 17-18, 2009. With the massive support from Mall of Asia. We at Stoked Inc are proud to present the “Billabong I dream of Cloud 9” the most epic weekend kick-off party imaginable for all board sport enthusiasts. The events is a pre-event jam for the prestigious Billabong Cloud 9 international surf competition in Siargao, and since we cant get everybody to the beautiful island, we are throwing one in the city. Expect a press conference for the visiting international surfers coming to conquer Cloud 9 as well as epic action from our wakeboard/wakeskate rail-jam competition and exhibition, also most disciplines of skateboarding will be represented with a stepdown rail comp, park run comp, game of skate (TBC) and freestyle longboarding (TBC). With riders from throughout the metro and beyond competing for prizes, as well as special international Billabong guest riders coming to join the fun, Namely Firdhaus from Singapore (skate), Bomb from Thailand (wake), Nick Vasicheck from Australia (surf) and our local StokedInc-Billabong surf phenom who won the event last year Editho “PISO” Alcala. So expect the action and vibe to be rodonkulous. Not only will there be boardsports action, but we will have a plethora of other kick-butt activities like Street art exhibitions by none other than the legendary PSP (Philippine Street Plan) graffiti artists, who will be lending their services painting up boards or helmets or whatever you can think of. We will also be having the mighty DJ’s of Second Story Sounds pumping the wheels of steel and providing audio pleasure for the event. Further more we will also be having the video premier of the award winning Billabong wake team film “Out of the Pond”. The event venue will now also serve as an extra drop point for those willing to donate to the Red Cross appeal to help those affected by typhoon Ondoy.
